It was so great getting to see Campbell and her family again and to see how much she's grown in the past 7 months! I always count it as an honor to capture these moments and I don't take it lightly that families entrust me with their memories. I've featured a few highlights from both her newborn session and her 7-month session since I wasn't able to post any of her newborn photos until her adoption was complete. I can only imagine what it must feel like to wait for so long to have your child in your arms and to finally get the call out of the blue that has has just been born. I asked her mom to share a little about how their experience and the emotions that came with it.

"We received the call on a Sunday to go to hospital to get our baby. She was 5 days old and we were so excited. I literally felt as if I were floating as the nurse handed her to us. The minute our eyes met was indescribable and something rushed through my body I’ve never felt before. It was instant love & our hearts were immediately complete. God blessed us with the most precious baby and we get to watch her grow everyday as we begin this beautiful journey as a family of three."

I absolutely love how Clara's newborn session turned out! She was just a wee 5 days old at her session. She and her family were so nice to work with. It took a little while (ok, a few hours) to get big brother on board, but I was determined to get that sibling shot! Toddlers can be tricky sometimes. When Clara's mom first contacted me about doing her newborn session I was so pumped. I knew who she was right away because I've been a fan of her music and her violin skills for years. (Check out her amazing work at nordikfire.com.) One creative person working for another can sometimes be a little nerve-racking because you don't know what kind of expectations they might have. But they just let me do my thing and they were thrilled with the results. I work so hard doing what I do and I pour my heart and soul into it so it means the world to me when clients love their photos and are appreciative for everything that goes into it. I'm grateful I got to meet this family and capture these memories for them.

Olivia Claire was one of the sweetest babies I've worked with and her newborn session is definitely one of my recent favorites. She was about 3 weeks old at her session, but she still slept like a champ. She is such a doll! Her mom requested plenty of pink and that was no problem at all. You can't go wrong with pink for a little girl. I love how her session has that rustic vibe but also has plenty of clean, simple shots as well. I love to style every session but I also want my photos to also be timeless.

I don't think I could love Grayson's newborn session any more. I enjoyed working with him and his sweet family. His big sister is so in love with him and also loved being in front of the camera. That's a newborn photographer's dream come true. Welcome to the world, Grayson!

My little girl. :) This little crab tree in our back yard blooms for a very short time in the spring every year, so we had to grab a few photos with it!

Talk about a cute baby! William was a dream to work with and has the sweetest little features. I love all the different poses we were able to capture of him. I have so many favorites! I really enjoyed working with him and his super sweet parents. Can't wait to see him back in a few months!

How can so much cuteness be bottled up in one little 6-month-old baby?? :) I thought she had a lot of hair at her newborn session (and she did) but goodness, just look at that head of hair now! She's like a living baby doll. Stella, you are so precious. You made me work hard for these smiles, but it was so worth it!
6-months is such a great milestone and one of my favorite ages to capture. At 6-months, babies are just learning how to sit up but still do well lying on their tummies and will usually lie on their back and play with their feet (all super cute poses). Don't skip over this important milestone! If you don't have the perfect outfits for your baby's milestone session, don't worry! We have lots of cute outfits for baby boys and girls. It was so great meeting baby Taylor and her family! They were so nice and easy-going. Big brother was very cooperative and you can tell he's smitten with his brand new baby sister. Taylor's mommy really loves the rustic look (as much as I do!) so I tried to incorporate plenty of that type of look into her session. I love that she brought Taylor's grandmother's christening gown to use in the session. Such a special and sentimental touch. Can't wait to see this family again in a few months!
